OUTRAGEOUS!

Well, it seems Todd has really jumped the gun. While Matt has been squatting hard, trying to lay a goose egg in the shape of his next book, unbeknownst to all and sundry, we forgot that NAZ is after Matt! The list says so!

It's all about the cover, people!

Well, that's what it sounded like last Tuesday. I think there was more discussion about the cover rather than the book. Nah, I'm joshing. It was a great book club meet, thanks to everyone who showed up at HOT LIPS.

Special shout out goes to Richella and Tony for very thoughtful and penetrating analysis.

True History of the Kelly Gang - good links

Firstly thanks to Ally for a great book and meeting at Unas Doma Beer Cafe.

I am really enjoying Zsolt's book. I am particularly enjoying the vernacular used by Carey and was wondering how much he 'improved' on it and how much as Ned Kelly's true style. Here is a link to the National Museum of Australia's transcript / pictures of the famous Jerilderie Letter 'I am a Widow's Son, outlawed and my orders must be obeyed'.

There is also a good website from the Victorian Public Records Office with documents re the Kelly outbreak:

And here is a link to the Benalla Costume & Pioneer museum - you can see a picture of Ned's 'sash'

Congratulations Comrade Costanovich

You are to be congratulated, Stepan, for your impeccable choice of venue for last Thursday's book club. I found the decor and ambience very much to my liking. The discussion was very stimulating. The Ukranian honey pepper vodka, was also, um, a source of stimulation!

So our next book is Dead Europe, and as some are already finished, and some are very close to finishing, we have decided to make the next book club in 3 weeks. At a venue and date/time to be nominated by Tony.

Please make your thoughts known in the comments section, or POST! I think I have made everybody an author now.

Farewell my friends
Karin Pierranov
